The final game of a college football season in a pandemic, a season that was uncertain to be played in the summer and filled with disruptions in the fall, ended in the most predictable fashion: Alabama (13-0) as national champion for the sixth time in the last 12 years under coach Nick Saban.
Alabama wide receiver DeVonta Smith set multiple records and was named Offensive Most Valuable Player of Monday night's 52-24 win over Ohio State in the College Football Playoff National Championship.

Smith, who was awarded the Heisman Trophy last Tuesday, exited the game early in the third quarter with a right hand injury. He returned to the sideline in the fourth quarter with his hand heavily bandaged. When asked post game about the status of this injury Smith said, "I'll be all right".
Monday night marked the fifth time in Smith's career he registered 200 or more receiving yards in a game. His career best for receiving yards in a game was 274 against Ole Miss on Sept. 28, 2019. This kid is going places. Good luck to him.
